TEDxUAlberta is a platform for exceptional ideas, and a catalyst for profound change.
In addition to our annual, one-day conference, which draws a diverse and passionate array of speakers, performers, demos and audience members, TEDxUAlberta runs community programming throughout the year exploring issues with local relevance.
What We've DONE
TEDxUAlberta was founded in August 2015 and since then:
We have organized 2 local TEDx Salon talks featuring Laurie Blakeman, Linh Lu, Will Strickland, and Kazmega
Hosted our inaugural TEDxUAlberta conference on March 6, 2016 at the Citadel Theatre that featured an array of speakers that can be found in the "Past" tab
RULES OF TEDx
1. TEDx events must be cross-disciplinary.
2. TEDx events can only be 1-day in length.
3. The TEDx event format is: the TEDx intro video, a session/s of talks under 18 minutes, along with 25% content of videos from TED.com, with breaks in between.
4. TEDx speakers must must tell a story and argue for an idea using credible proof. They may not use the TED stage to sell products, promote themselves, or advance notions that cannot be defended with well-founded evidence
